While TouchWiz isn’t yet available in the US, it turns out that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is already shipping with the software preloaded in Italy.
Now members of the xda-developers forum have figured out how to extract the TouchWiz software and install it manually. That means you can run TouchWiz today, without waiting for Samsung to roll out the update.
The process is a little complicated. If you’ve never rooted an Android device or flashed a custom software update or custom ROM, you might want to hold off. In fact, you might want to hold off anyway, since the fact that TouchWiz is already shipping in Italy means it will probably be available in the US soon as well. But if you just can’t wait to try it out, hit up xda-developers for instructions.
You can check out an Italian video showing off TouchWiz below, as well as an official Samsung video demonstrating many of the tablet’s features including TouchWiz and other new software. [Source: liliputing.com]
