Ikea Catalogue apps for Android

Posted at 7:24 AM by admin
Ikea Swedish supermarket has released a digital version of its popular catalog for Android devices. That's the good news. I know people who treat the catalog like a magazine, and scroll to the fun, even if they do not buy.

The bad news is that the app will not install on an SD card, so if you install it on an Android-powered smartphone, it is 50MB download images, text and other data, leaving little room on the phone for other applications.

The catalog contains over 4,000 images and over 2,000 products. You can flip through the pages, jump to one side after the visit number, first shall be last, previous, or next, or zoom out for a better view. There is also a tablet of contents, bookmarks feature, and you can search the catalog text. If you tap on the plus sign next to a product that you will find a detail page with a picture, price and more information.

Ikea rolls out the catalog app in stages around the globe. The U.S. version went live earlier this month. It will hit Spain, China and other places soon ... including Sweden, where it will be available Thursday.

Ikea app is basically just a portable catalog - but if you want to use for an application to in-shops, you might want to check, free (and unofficially) Ikea picking list, keep track of the items you want to get help on the business of self-service area, as you stroll through the aisles.
