Skytex Primer Pocket Android Tablet for $99

The Skytex primer pocket is a $ 99 Android device with a 4.3-inch display and support for multitouch. It is expected to shipping the week of 15 August, and it is one of the cheapest Android pocketable devices I've seen, it might be a good option if you are looking for a budget for the display of media, surf the Internet, or games.

But while the device caused a little excitement when we first spotted it a few days ago, the company has a few videos on YouTube, which should probably lower your expectations, hopes or published. The primer pocket is certainly an impressive machine due to its low price ... but you get what you pay for.

In this case, that a resistive touch screen, that does not appear to respond to finger input as well as more expensive capacitive touch panels, and a 600 MHz MIPS processor Xburst with a 400MHz DSP for video playback, the mediocre performance features, if it is a matter involves running Android apps.

The good news is that despite the resistive touch technology of hand-held device supports two-finger-touch gestures like pinch to zoom is working. The bad news is that it seems a little stutter in the graphics, if you do pinch to zoom.

This means that the primer pocket video playback seems very well tolerated, and some games seem to run well as well. Although I do not expect the same kind of performance we have come to expect from high-end phones and tablets with fast processors and high-quality displays, this little guy not look all that bad for a $ 99 pocketable media player / internet tablet.

The primer pocket has a 480 x 272 pixel display, 256 MB RAM, 4 GB of memory, and 802.11b WiFi. It has a built-in microphone and speaker, a g-sensor, and a microSD card slot.

While you do not get official Google Android Market Android 2.2 support on this device that spans the Skytex GetJar App Store and install it is easy to change markets such as the Amazon or SlideME AppStore.
